New S760 and S860 Digital Cameras announced by Samsung
The stylish and compact cameras come with a 3x optical zoom, Samsung SHD lens and digital image stabilization for the user to avoid shake and produce sharp, clear images, even in low-light environments. The face detection feature can detect nine faces and automatically adjust focus and exposure to capture pictures in better composition and image quality. Interestingly, the face detection technology also helps owners of the S760 and S860 to automatically detect their own face and take images, provided the subject is in the center of the frame. The self portrait mode obviously helps you to click your self portrait.
Furthermore, Samsung also provides a special effects ‘E’ button that enables an instant access to a host of creative controls along with options for resizing and rotating images, adjusting brightness, contrast and saturation levels, fixing red eye and manipulating color. You can save captured photographs as Black and White, Sepia, Red, Blue, Green and Negative.
The Movie mode in the cameras lets users capture videos in either one of the two resolutions, namely 320×240 or 640×480, at 30 frames per second in AVI (MJPEG) format. Samsung S760 and S860 work on AA alkaline batteries.
Expected to roll out in January 2008, The Samsung S760 digicam costs $169 (approx. Rs. 6,800) and S860 carries a price tag of $179 (approx. Rs. 7,200).
